Indian Block Printing On Linen

Hand carved Indian woodblocks can be used on paper, card or textiles, in this half day workshop you will have the opportunity to use a variety of blocks, some purchased in India and some more contemporary designs.

We will begin by using the blocks on paper to experiment with pattern repeats, overlapping designs and use of colour. Looking at examples of block printed fabric you will consider your design and will then print a piece of natural linen which can be used as a table mat, bag or cushion cover using your favourite blocks.
