Kids Play With Clay

Brand new workshop – the first childrens ‘Play with Clay’.

This is a TWO-PART workshop, the second part coming in to paint your plaque when it’s fired.

Here’s your first chance to let the children play with clay at the Dixie Dot Studio!

Come along and learn the basics of using clay to create your own design.

After learning some hints and tips and ‘how it works’ you will be rolling your clay and shaping as desired. Only you can get creative with all of our stamps including alphabet stamps for you to imprint your chosen word. It doesn’t have to be a name, you could choose ‘love’ or ‘family’ for example.

Once finished we will leave the clay to dry thoroughly for a few weeks before it’s fired in the kiln.

At this point it becomes bisqueware and is ready for painting.

Once this is done you can book in to come and paint your plaque at a time that suits you. You will be using our specialist ceramic paints. You can get creative to mix colours or maybe paint it all in one colour of different shades to match the room it’s going in – the choice is yours.

The item is then left to dry and is glazed and fired like any other piece in the studio. It will be ready for collection approximately a week later.

All tools, tuition and refreshments are included in the price which also covers BOTH sessions. You do not have to pay twice.

If you do not wish to come back and paint in the studio you are able to buy a paint at home kit for £5 and take your bisqueware away to do in your own time, returning for firing when it’s finished.
