Bakery On The Water

In 1978 Graham and Clare helped Clare’s parents Peter and Jennifer Chesterfield to start a bakery, Queen of Hearts in Oxford. In 1928 it was Peter’s mother who started the family bakery story when she opened a cake shop, Elisabeth the Chef, in Leamington Spa. Peter still gets involved in the afternoon cake production at 86 years young!

We hope we have captured all the best of this history, knowledge and experience within this local village bakery and look forward to meeting you when you visit.

Our daughter Camilla and partner Matt took the brave decision to move in above the bakery and help us get the business started and our youngest daughter Jen joins the team in the holidays.

From a safer distance, our other children Sam and Emily drove the image and branding, something we would never have achieved without them given all the distractions of getting the business open.
