Bourton Vale Equestrian Centre

Bourton Vale Equestrian Centre opened on April 1st 1999 and was founded by Leanne and Justin Launchbury. What started out as a hobby gradually grew into a business and is now a thriving Cotswold riding school. It is a way of life for us and our son Jake who is BVEC born and bred! Over the years BVEC has grown from a small livery and riding school to a pony club centre with around 50 members. We enjoy sharing our passion for horses and animals with all our visitors. Many of our horses and ponies are rescue animals. Our philosophy is to give everyone and every animal the best opportunity that we can.

Tourist Hacks
These are an hour long circular rides around the Cotswold villages of Lower and sometimes Upper Slaughter for people who have ridden before, and we have the 45 minute route – suitable for all levels of rider from absolute beginners. The best way to see the beautiful Slaughter villages is from the back of one of our experienced and good-natured horses! The 45 minute ride can include a short trot if riders are happy to do so. The hour long ride will go through both Lower and Upper Slaughter if the riders are happy to do longer sections of trot. We aim to have a refreshing splash in the River Eye en route.

River Rides
Our river rides are particularly popular with children or nervous adults who just fancy “having a go” as a guide walks alongside the riders. These take approximately 30 minutes and go to the river in Lower Slaughter, where we have a paddle, a snap and back.
