Cafe Rene
Visit award-winning Café René for traditional pub food and live music from bands and individual acts. Based in Gloucester, Gloucestershire, our bar restaurant is a venue where you are entertained all night long. Featured reputable house music acts, our underground cellar bar is open on Fridays and Saturdays and we also hold events from poetry nights and zombie walks to festivals. You are even able to rent out our cellar bar for a party that you’ll never forget. Established in April 2003, our aim is to provide fantastic entertainment in a place that you can feel relaxed in.
Café René was the first pub in Gloucester to obtain a 24-hour licence and still have it today. Trading for more than 13 years in the city centre.
Paul Soden opened Café René and turned it into a pub that he would like to eat and drink in. He created an atmosphere that encourages everyone to enjoy food, drink, music, and most importantly each other.
We strive to do the best we can to facilitate an environment for people to enjoy themselves in a controlled manner through friendship, music, food, and drink, while promoting the City of Gloucester.
Let your hair down at festivals packed full of live music from well-known performers. The events that we host feature artwork from flourishing artists as well as street art and sculpture.
