Lords of The Manor
Lords of The Manor
By journeying through the rolling hills and rural beauty of the Cotswolds, you reach one of the most acclaimed Cotswold luxury hotels. Lords of the Manor is the perfect destination for guests looking for a truly enchanting getaway.
Our 17th-century hotel is in the unspoiled Cotswold village of Upper Slaughter, between Bourton-on-the-Water and Stow-on-the-Wold. The walk between Upper and Lower Slaughter is often called the best short walk in the Cotswolds – it showcases all that is loved most about the area.
It’s not difficult to see why we were recently named as the Good Hotel Guide’s best Hotel with Gardens; set in 8 acres of lawns and grandiose gardens, our Cotswolds hotel dates back to 1649 and the honey coloured stone of the manor instantly evokes nostalgia for decadent pastimes – without compromising on modern comforts.
Dining has always been most important here at the best luxury hotel in the Cotswolds. New for 2019, we’re excited to offer a choice of restaurants. Don’t miss Atrium at Lords of the Manor: With just 14 seats for dinner, it’s an exciting, highly seasonal, tasting menu evening to remember. This is complemented by The Dining Room, with its more informal setting. Two restaurants now make us perfect for a two night stay.
We’re 4 Red Star AA ‘Inspector’s Choice’ listed and 3 AA Rosette, also Good Food Guide listed “..looks the business, outside and in” . Whether you opt for lunch, dinner or afternoon tea, our winning Country House hotel atmosphere and sensational service ensures critically acclaimed dining.
Perfectly situated in prime Cotswolds country, a stay at our manor house hotel in the Cotswolds provides the perfect base to explore the towns and villages of the north Cotswolds. And do consider bringing your dog – we are The Good Hotel Guide Editor’s Choice Best Dog-Friendly Hotel 2019. From Lords of the Manor you can take a walk through the ‘Slaughters’ (two beautiful villages), or set off to explore the wonderful historic houses, National Trust properties, gardens and shops that make the Cotswolds such a pleasure to explore.
Lords of the Manor is a luxury retreat that has a unique character in every season. Spring flowers, tea on the lawn in summer or spectacular displays of Cotswold autumn colour each have their appeal. And many guests return for a winter getaway, with all the pleasures of a short winter walk, drinks by the crackling log fire in our lounge and the prospect of dinner for two.
