Built over 170 years ago to accommodate wealthy visitors to the town’s many natural spas, the eminent Cheltonian landmark has been warmly accommodating locals and visitors to the town’s cricket, cultural and steeple-chasing festivals ever since.

Visitors often meander the surrounding Montpellier district, a fashionable area of elegant residences, chic cafes, smart boutiques and specialist merchants. After a morning browsing the shops, it’s simply wonderful to retreat into the sumptuous hotel to take coffee, lunch or afternoon tea. If more peckish, head into the Restaurant for a divine dinner.
