Boulder Barn

We are proud to announce the re-opening of the Boulder Barn, our new climbing facility in Hereford. This latest instalment to the Taste For Adventure Family is all part of our visionary leaders’ legacy, the late Brummie Stokes MBE BEM. Along with his wife Lynn, Brummie dreamt that adventurous activities should be available to all, regardless of age, fitness and finances and hence founded the charity ‘Taste for Adventure’ back in 1991.

Over the years TFA has taken children and adults on many an adventure; rock climbing canoeing, kayaking, gorge walking, expeditions to Everest Base camp to name but a few!!

The Boulder Barn will offer affordable, fun and social bouldering in Hereford whilst generating funds to help the charity achieve its aims and objectives. The centre boasts a fantastic bouldering wall suitable for all levels, a Moonboard, cafe with seating area and a mezzanine/viewing area if you just fancy a coffee while watching the climbers in action.

Bouldering Walls
Bouldering is climbing in its simplest form. By eliminating the need for ropes, knowledgeable belayers, harnesses and other equipment, climbing becomes simplified to movement in the vertical plane. With this freedom, climbers can commit completely to a small number of moves, practice them close to the ground and pursue their true limits. Our bespoke built bouldering walls offer hundreds of routes, suitable for all skill levels.

MoonBoard
Our MoonBoard is a bright panelled climbing wall, angled at 40 degrees and set with a selection of numbered holds consisting of crimps, pinches, slopers and pockets. Built into it is an LED system that allows users access to 1000s of MoonBoard problems in just a click and a swipe, making the MoonBoard training facility even more user-friendly and accessible than ever before.

Figure of Ate Cafe
We have seating areas for our weary warriors to relax in, including sofa’s & our benches remade made from Taste For Adventures old high ropes tower. Relax and overlook the facility from our mezzanine or down in the cafe area.

Boulder Barn facilities includes lovely hot showers! Private changing booths, storage for your belongings and ample seating.

Birthday Parties at Boulder Barn
We offer birthday parties for children aged 5 and over. All of our parties are run by qualified instructors who love to ensure that your child has the best time. Each party will be a mixture of fun games, climbing activities,* movement skills and more. Want to stay and watch? Then why not sit and relax with a nice coffee in Figure of Ate, our cafe.
