The Dog Inn is a traditional country Inn and has been in operation for more than 500 years. The inn is the oldest pub in Ewyas Harold there has been several name changes over the years.
The Bell being the first one during the reign of King James the 1st. By 1750 the pub had changed its name to The Dog. We are located in the Golden Valley in the village of Ewyas Harold, Hereford, England and we are only a few minutes from the Welsh border. 12 miles from the historic town of Hereford and 12 miles from the historic town of Abergavenny. There is plenty to see and do within the surrounding area.
We currently have two pool teams who are in the south Herfordshire league, and play on a Thursday evening though out the winter. We have a dart team in the south Herfordshire dart league that play on a Monday evening over the winter.
The function room is available for groups up to 20 people, ideal for parties with family and friends, group meetings, or a social gathering. Buffet (for parties) are available when ordered in advance.
We don’t serve any food, however the Old Stables Fish and Chip Shop is just across the road, you can get your supper from there and eat in the Dog Inn as long as you buy a drink or two.
We have two rooms: a triple room with a double and single beds and a single room. Both rooms have a TV and tea & coffee facilities. Wifi is available. A full English breakfast is included in the price.
