Drover Cycles

The Drover Cycles bike fleet is one of the most comprehensive you’ll find anywhere. We offer hire for pretty much any rider, all ages and riding styles.

We offer two options for collection/return: come to our base in Hay on Wye or, if you’re not in Hay, we will deliver bikes directly to your accommodation or start point of your ride. Delivery and collection is FREE within a 20 miles (32km) radius of our base (Hay on Wye, HR3 5EH) provided you:

a) book at least 12 hours in advance
b) hire at least two bikes
c) hire for a minimum of one full day

The following locations all fall within the free delivery radius – Brecon, Bronllys, Builth Wells, Crickhowell, Hereford, Llangorse, Kington, Talgarth, Talybont-on-Usk, The Golden Valley, The Olchon Valley, Three Cocks. Other popular locations for bike delivery include Abergavenny, The National Park Visitor Centre at Libanus and Sennybridge. We’re more than happy to deliver to these and many other locations. For delivery further afield we charge £2 per mile over and above 20 miles, as a rule of thumb, but please contact us to discuss your requirements so that we can give you a quote.

With every hire you’ll get a pump, repair kit and lock, and of course that all important helmet. So, you just need to arrive in the correct clothing for the weather conditions on the day and you’re good to go. We can also lend you some maps of our favourite routes, or if you’re a gadget lover there’s the option to hire a Garmin cycle computer with the maps pre-loaded. For our touring bikes we offer waterproof panniers to keep your kit clean and dry.

The Cafe
We have a limited menu but everything we serve is tasty, freshly prepared and very reasonably priced. We don’t do anything too fancy but we do believe in good food which us why we use quality, locally-sourced ingredients in our cafe. Many products and / or ingredients organic and Fair Trade.

It is an international destination for bibliophiles, with over twenty fascinating bookshops to browse, many selling specialist and collectable books. There are also many boutique shops and what must be one of the most luxurious small cinemas in the country!
