Noakes Farm Riding Centre

Noakes Farm Riding Centre is a long established friendly school with a family atmosphere. We have an excellent standard of tuition from highly qualified and experienced BHS instructors. Our superb indoor and outdoor facilities coupled with well schooled ponies provide a perfect platform to enjoy horse riding.

We’re surrounded by 250 acres of beautiful Herefordshire countryside to explore. This provides us with a picturesque and tranquil setting for hacks. In addition, a woodland covered disused railway line, running parallel with the river Frome, offers a safe sheltered route for the less experienced rider.

We are a family run riding school located 1 mile from the market town of Bromyard, 10 miles from Leominster and 12 miles from Hereford.

Noakes Farm Riding Centre is a licensed school through the Herefordshire Council. They annually check our horses, ponies and facilities with a full veterinary inspection, which we pride ourselves by passing with top marks. It is situated on a working farm, currently a buzz with spring lambs, and offers many unique hacking routes giving you a chance to relax and enjoy the local landscape.

We give encouraging tuition by experienced qualified instructors. Lessons are available for nervous beginners where leaders can be provided, to more experienced riders, in a small group or private one-to-one lessons.

For the children we have after school riding groups and during the school holidays we run day courses, morning courses and pony club days. In addition, we cater for birthday parties, hen parties and family groups.

We offer a pony club centre membership where children can train towards pony club tests and achievement badges. This gives them a sound, structured foundation in all aspects of riding and stable management. To join you pay an annual subscription to the pony club. During school holidays day courses are run in both riding and stable management which follow the pony club syllabus gaining bronze, silver and gold awards leading to pony club tests.

Hacking across the spectacular countryside along a selection of secure sheltered routes. All rides have the opportunity for cantering and some jumping depending on your ability.

Schooled lessons for children and adults in either our indoor or outdoor school where we aim to give varied, informative and pleasurable lessons.

Day courses, morning courses and Pony Club days are run during the school holidays. These focus on riding and horse care. Activities include stable management, gymkhana games and handy pony.

School groups have the opportunity to hack, school and take part in stable management. This gives pupils a varied experience in all aspects of horse management, helping to build confidence and independence around ponies while making new friends at the same time.

Gift vouchers make a wonderful present for Christmas, birthdays , anniversaries, or simply just to say thank you. We provide a voucher slip along with a coloured brochure.

Birthday parties where children are allocated a pony with an experienced leader and we usually take them on a hack around the farm. If the weather is unsettled we have an indoor arena where we walk, trot and play gymkhana games. The children can then have party food, supplied by you, in our tack room after the lesson. This building is an old traditional granary adjoining the house featuring original oak beams and a cider press, facilities include a party table, coffee room, toilet and spacious sitting area.
