The Priory Hotel sits peacefully in the Herefordshire Countryside set in three acres, yet only three miles north of the city centre.
This former rectory dates back to the mid 17th century with later Victorian additions, today it retains the feel of a private home where there’s time to relax and be waited on without fuss or hurry by friendly attentive staff.
With eight en-suite bedrooms combining classic elegance with sophisticated modern style, crisp bed linen and plump pillows all add to the feeling of comfort for your stay. Indulge yourself with an in-room treatments carried out in a relaxing environment by our local therapist, spend time out in the sheltered garden where you can sit on the terrace and soak up the sun or stroll down the lane picking up many of the footpaths to explore the beautiful countryside including the Wye Valley Walk that stretches the English / Welsh boarder. Our Hathway restaurant showcase’s the very best in British cuisine served uncomplicated with a focus on locally sourced produce where possible, flavour and freshness. Overlooking the terrace and gardens, with a long family lunch, relaxed supper with friends and a roaring log fire. Arrange a special birthday celebration, indulge yourself with our Vintage Afternoon Tea or simply a romantic dinner for two in our hotel.
Our house bar is a good meeting place for pre-dinner drinks with a select wine list, local cider and beer or a refreshing apple juice from one of the many local orchards in Herefordshire.
