Swan Brewery

Jimmy Swan is the founder and head brewer at Swan Brewery, in Leominster, Herefordshire.

Jimmy brews by hand in small batches in a 10 barrel brewery, applying his expertise to create the very best ales, following careful selection of raw materials and precisely honed recipes.

About 85% of the hops used are grown in Herefordshire or Worcestershire; the brewing grain is grown in the east of England; a unique strain of yeast is used which is propagated and harvested each time.

Swan Brewery practises environmentally friendly, sustainable brewing – look out for the #greenswan hashtag on Twitter – and holds a Green Business of the Year Award from the Society of Independent Brewers (SIBA).

You’ll find Swan Brewery ales in pubs and clubs in Herefordshire, South Shropshire, Worcestershire and Powys. Talk to your local publican and they might be available in a pub near you. We’re open to the public every Friday from 9am to 4pm for beer sampling, party beer and bottles. We always have Swan Gold 4% refreshing golden ale and Ruffled Feathers 3.8% bright, crisp ale in stock in casks, plus seasonal ales.

Jimmy Swan is known for his creativity in developing new beers all crafted using only the 4 ingredients of water, malt, hops and yeast. We invite you to come along to our monthly Tasting Days when you could be one of the first to taste a brand new ale – on the house.

If you consider yourself a beer aficionado, sign up for the Swan Brewery Frequent Flyer Club to keep in touch with brewery news and be rewarded with a branded glass, discounts on beer and a beer on your birthday.

Think of your favourite beer styles, and imagine them brewed exceptionally well. That’s Swan Brewery ales – hand brewed in the heart of Herefordshire.
