Wye Valley Visitor Centre
Wye Valley Visitor Centre
The Wye Valley Visitor Centre is at the very heart of the Wye Valley Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, where the spectacular Upper Wye Gorge opens out briefly into farmland before the River Wye plunges back between cliffs overlooking the Wye.
In the picturesque Wye Valley, the rolling hills south of Hereford shake hands with the Forest of Dean across the River Wye at Symonds Yat.
You’ll find a friendly community with famous attractions, exciting activities, specialty shopping, and great food beneath towering woods and hills. Get the most for you and your family from your time in the countryside:
- aMazing HEDGE PUZZLE
- Wye Valley BUTTERFLY ZOO
- Wye Valley MINIATURE GOLF
- Wye Valley WARFARE
- Tearoom Cafe
- Two outdoor picnic areas
- Indoor picnic refuge
- Local tourist information
- Country Promenade
- Riverside Church
This is the natural place to start your holiday in the Wye Valley Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, Herefordshire or the Forest of Dean. It’s great for an entertaining day trip.
Symonds Yat West is easily reached by the A40, roughly halfway between Ross-on-Wye and Monmouth and just minutes from the M50 motorway.
Forest Holidays in the Forest of Dean and Welsh Bicknor Youth Hostel are nearby, and the walk to Symonds Yat is wonderful.
Reviews
Parking is a scam
I am going to court as I feel SO strongly about this parking scam. I hope it will make the local papers and then people will be aware of it. Also I give it nil stars but the ‘review’ won’t let me. Rip off.
Parking scam
The Butterfly Farm was OK but marred by a large fine from Parking Eye even though I had paid for parking. The parking ticket showed only part of my registration, so they say I had not adhered to their terms. Spoilt my visit and will never go there again.
