Remembrance Sunday In Hereford

Remembrance Day takes place on Sunday 10th of November across the country. Join hundreds of local people who remember those who died, were lost or injured whilst in conflict.

The Procession will begin to make its way down St Owen’s Street at 10.30am, to the War Memorial where a service will be held, and at 11am there will be a two minute silence.

The men and women of Herefordshire made a huge contribution to the war effort; from the brave young men recruited into the Herefordshire Regiment, to the Canary Girls who filled munition shells at the Rotherwas Munitions Factory. Local farmers provided food and horses to the war effort, while the Home Front kept soldiers warm with handmade knitted goods.

Father Christmas Arrives Late November

Glittering Christmas lights and festive fairs are all well and good, but Christmas just wouldn’t be the same without a trip to see jolly old Saint Nick.

Everybody has fond childhood memories of visiting Santa’s grotto for the very first time. Treat your kids to the same, as Father Christmas starts his busy tours late November through December.

November At The National Trust

At Christmas time many of the stately homes across the Herefordshire landscape come to life in a way that captures the joy, traditions and anticipation of the festive season.

Few counties can boast that they have quite as many National Trust properties as Herefordshire.

You can visit The Weir Garden with its spectacular riverside setting.

Berrington Hall is a neo-classical mansion with fine interiors, set in landscape grounds.

Brockhampton Estate is our favourite, a traditionally farmed estate and medieval manor house.

At Croft Castle you can discover 1000 years of power, politics and pleasure in an intimate family home.
