CELEBRATING HEREFORDSHIRE APPLES

Apple celebrations in Herefordshire are regular events throughout the year. Join locals at rural gatherings enjoying local orchards, apples, cider, perry and culinary delights.

Wassailing is an ancient custom that involves drinking cider, singing to the trees in the hope of a good harvest and scaring away any evil spirits that might be lurking. Harvestime is a celebration of English apples, pears, cider, perry and orchards in the Herefordshire parishes.

The Big Apple Harvestime Weekend invites you to share the tradition of apple growing and cidermaking. Learn how apples in Herefordshire were milled and pressed and how the resulting juice was fermented to produce either fine or ‘farmhouse’ cider: a centuries-old tradition still developing today at The Museum Of Cider.

Blossomtime takes place during May an opportunity to enjoy the Herefordshire countryside. Visit ancient orchards, meet the Herefordshire food and drink producers and taste some great cider and perry.
