Clodock Mill Heritage Day

Event Details

Clodock Mill Heritage Day

Visit a traditional working watermill. We expect the mill to be grinding wheat on the day of your visit and producing flour (as long as there is water in the river and there are no technical problems).

Clodock Mill is a country corn meal beside the River Monnow, close to the Welsh border. In the 13th century, it was owned by Walter de Lacy, the Norman marcher baron who had castles at Ludlow, Weobley, Longtown and Trim in Ireland.

The present mill buildings go back to the 17th century. Some of the milling machinery is over 200 years old and still working. Try some of our stoneground wholemeal flour. We give it away but would appreciate a donation to Midlands Air Ambulance in return.
