Ferrous is Back in High Town and around the city centre.

Programme TBC:

• Live Forging in High Town: your chance to try your hand at making a hot-forged metal seed marker to mark a special spot in your garden or favourite flower tub.
• Maylord Takeover: a range of exhibitions celebrating the blacksmiths’ art for the 21st century our seven pop-up galleries in Gomond Street
• ​Metal + Metal: a show of contemporary hot forged metal from Steneby in Sweden
• Measured Making: the brand new exhibition based on the submissions received in the 150 mm Challenge with works made by artists from around the world as well as local Herefordshire designer maker
• Alumni Exhibition: work by Toby Forbes Gower, Sam Pearce and Christian Vaughan-Jones
• Herefordshire Makers: exhibit the amazing work which takes place every day in Herefordshire
• Paul Mikula and Martha Jones: an exhibition showing the mandala made in an HCA masterclass under the expert tuition of Paul Mikula with a photo essay of the process by Martha Jones
• Celebrating the Natural Environment: the exhibition of tin plate tokens made by Herefordshire primary schools under the guidance of blacksmithing students from Hereford College of Arts
• Demonstrations: the artist in action – come and watch a piece of metal be transformed into something amazing before your eyes
• The 150 mm Challenge: the call to make something beautiful form a single piece of metal measuring 150 mm x 20 mm x 20 mm to which artists worldwide have responded and will be shown in the Measured Making Exhibition
• Photographic exhibitions of the blacksmithing process
• Talks and lectures about artist blacksmithing and the restoration of heritage pieces
• The Nowhere Forge, Hereford’s own travelling blacksmith will be located at various places around the city centre
