Queenswood Heritage Open Day

The Queenswood Heritage Open Day event will celebrate the Queenswood Heritage Gateway Project that has been running throughout 2018-2019 at Queenswood Country Park and Arboretum.

Discover the rich natural and cultural heritage of the country park. Join in with the activities including children’s crafts, green woodworking and charcoal making. Watch demonstrations of horse drawn timber extraction and take part in guided walks.

There will be plenty to do and see, with horse drawn timber extraction demonstrations, green woodworking and activities for children throughout the day.

There will be the opportunity to go on a guided walk around the site where you can learn about the history and heritage of this interesting woodland site and how it came to be the Arboretum and Country Park that we know today.

The Queenswood Heritage Gateway Project has funded practical improvements and new interpretations on site, as well as a programme of events and activities throughout the year. This event will mark the end of the project which was funded by the National Lottery Heritage Fund and the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development.

There will be no charge for workshops, activities and guided walks. Normal parking charges will apply.
