Satchel Workshop

Suitable for beginners, this course will begin with students learning the basic leather skills (or refreshing your memory of them) by firstly learning and practicing how to hand stitch leather. You will learn marking out, choosing appropriate leather, hand saddle stitching and raw edge finishing.

Following this everyone will make one unlined leather satchel each. You will work from a prepared patterns, there is a choice of two different sizes and you can choose from our range of leathers to have your own bespoke colour combinations and make small alterations such as changing stitch colour, choosing the buckles, etc. so your finished bag will be unique to you.

Course runs from 10am – 5pm with a break for lunch and tea and cake breaks throughout the day. An individual packed lunch from our local tea rooms and tea and coffee included in the price. The price includes the cost of all leather and fittings used to make your bag.

The workshop costs £150 per person. If you prefer you can pay a £75 deposit to book your place and the £75 balance will be due on the day of the workshop, if you would like to do this please email sarah@williamshandmade.com

PLEASE NOTE: All deposits and payments in full are strictly non refundable and can not be exchanged to an alternative date within one month of the date of the workshop (except if covid-19 is the reason for postponement).
