Ludlow Winter Festival

As part of Ludlow Winter Festival and the Christmas light switch-on, Ludlow Castle & Ludlow Food Festival are pleased to present a magical evening.

You will experience the castle as you never have before. Buildings will be transformed with lights and music and you never know, we might even be able to make in snow.

The circular route will bring you to Castle House Gardens where you can enjoy some festive entertainment from local choirs, bands and singers, enjoy mulled wine, and feast with firm favourites from Ludlow Food Festival. Be sure to stop off at our gift shop at the castle entrance and the Artisan Makers Market in the Beacon Rooms, with plenty of opportunity to find those special Christmas gifts.

Please note Ludlow Castle is a ruin; remember to wear suitable clothing and footwear. There are some areas of uneven ground and steps. Due to the nature of the location and the event, not all areas will be accessible for wheelchair users. Sorry – no dogs allowed except for assistance dogs.

FRIDAY

Ludlow’s independent shops will be keeping their doors open whilst the tractors parade through town, so take the opportunity to kick-start (or complete!) your Christmas Shopping.
7-9pm: Christmas Bazaar, Poetry, Pizza & Beer, St Laurence’s Church
7pm: Orleton Young Farmer Club (YFC) festive tractor run
7.30pm: Folk Music, Ludlow Assembly Rooms

Ludlow Folk’ have been curating the pop-up Folk Cafe events at Bill’s Kitchen over the last year. We’ve had several sell out evenings with incredible musicians entertaining well fed customers. Come and enjoy a showcase some of the area’s finest folk musicians – tickets are just £5 and you can choose to book dinner at Bill’s Kitchen beforehand if you wish to make a night of it!

Mark Richards from the Rhythm Thieves will be organising the LAR Winter Festival Open Mic. Come along after you’ve enjoyed the atmosphere of the Christmas Lights switch on and enjoy listening to a variety of local talents in Oscars. The bar will be well stocked, we look forward to seeing you there!
