The Shrewsbury Ark is a day centre in the heart of Shrewsubury dedicated to helping homeless and vulnerable people in our community to turn their lives around. The Ark statistics from the period 1st of July 2022- 29th of June 2023 state that the total number of visits made by people during this period were 10,112 and 39 people on average come through the doors each day to use the Ark’s services. Emily Bell the chair of the trustees said: “As an independent charity we rely entirely on donations and fundraising to ensure that individuals facing homelessness, receive the help they need to rebuild their lives.“
Louise Southan and Ben Wiseman are two Shropshire artists selling and exhibiting locally. They are hoping to raise funds for the Ark by putting on a charity art exhibition.
In addition Louise and Ben are putting on a selection of canapés and drinks on Easter Monday and art workshops on Saturday the 6th of April.
The workshops cost £15.00 with art all materials provided and are suitable for people aged over the age of 16. No art experience is necessary and the workshops run between 10-12 noon: Paint the Shropshire hills in Watercolour’ and 2-4pm: Paint Expressive Flowers in mixed media’.
