Come and stay in one of our renovated railway carriages surrounded by beautiful woodland and relax in comfort. Coalport Station Holidays offers exceptional self-catering accommodation in two railway carriages located in the heart of Shropshire’s stunning Ironbridge Gorge (UNESCO World Heritage Site).

From the outside our carriages look like historic GWR rolling stock, but on the inside they offer modern luxury holiday accommodation. This peaceful setting is also within walking distance of excellent quality food and traditional ales. Whether it’s a short break or a full week, you are assured a warm welcome.

In 2002 Steve and Lisa took one look at Coalport Station and made the decision to be the station masters there and then. Three months later they gave up their business life in London to become the proud owners! The move from the cut and thrust of business in London, to a much slower pace of life in Shropshire means that getting out and about early is now the exception rather than the rule. Noises here come from the badgers and the deer, with owls adding their hoots.

Both of them find that Shropshire and especially Coalport Station embrace the present and the past so well. The carriages have all the modern luxuries people look for and yet it’s wrapped up in a vintage setting, whilst only being a few hours’ drive from the centres of London and Manchester, with Birmingham’s centre being less than an hour’s drive away.

The picturesque surroundings of the river Severn provide many activities suitable for a wide range of interests. Whatever the weather, the Severn Valley is nature’s playground, offering fun and adventure for all.
