Situated in the grounds of the owner’s home, which was once a working farm, the former shire horse stables have been converted into a comfortable holiday home. The owners have kept as many original features as possible but have added additional comforts one expects, such as underfloor heating, wi-fi, ensuite shower room and a comfortable bedroom with a free standing, roll top bath.

Outside, guests are welcome to enjoy the 2 acres of gardens and orchard. The delightful market town of Whitchurch, famous for being ‘home of the tower clocks’ with buildings dating from Tudor, Georgian and Medieval time, offers a great selection of shops, pubs, cafes and restaurants. Ideal for those who love the great outdoors there are lots of walks in the area including the Sandstone Trail as well as walks around Dearnford Lake, Brown Moss, Greenfields Nature Reserve and Whitchurch Waterways Country Park.

Whilst there is plenty to see and do in the immediate area, Shire’s Loft is also a great touring base and is well located for exploring Shropshire, Cheshire and North Wales. Shrewsbury, Wrexham and Chester are all within a 30-minute drive. Shrewsbury with its medieval architecture and riverside walks is 21 miles away and the historical city of Chester with its excellent shopping, famous racecourse and the popular attraction of Chester Zoo is 22 miles. Other places of interest, within easy driving distance, include Blue Planet Aquarium 26 miles, Hawkstone Follies 8 miles, Ironbridge 29 miles and Delamere Forest 25 miles.
