Stonehouse Brewery

The Stonehouse Brewery is a small family business and offers different brewery tours by arrangement. On the first Saturday of every month, starting at 1pm, we hold a Tour & Tasting session for small groups and individuals lasting 1.5 – 2 hours.

You can come and visit us in our Stonehouse Bar & Shop and can buy most of our range of beers in bottles, or sit down for a pint with friends. If the weather is nice, why not enjoy the sun in our beer garden. We also have a pop-up pizza stall from Lepones Pizzeria at select times.

Our brewing plant capacity has been upgraded over the years and now is now 100 brewer’s barrels (28,800 pints) per week, which allows us to meet demand during peak periods. It consists of second hand vessels customised to form our liquor tanks and copper. Our open top fermenters and mash tun were custom built by Fabdec in Ellesmere. Most of the brewery parts and accessories, such as the sparge-arm condenser and automated cask-washer, were designed and built by our very own on-site engineer, Iain.

In 2013 we constructed a purpose built, energy efficient brew house, and although we have seen a lot of interest in our products since winning a national gold award at SIBA, we are firmly committed to not taking over the world. Our bottles are available further afield, but if you want to try our beer in cask, you should pop into our on-site bar and shop, or visit some of the many great pubs in the area.
