The Bird in Hand Inn
The Bird in Hand Inn
Why not enjoy a very relaxed break at this famous Inn built in 1774 which for the past 30 years is run by the Poulton family (Bill, Hazel, Steve and Michelle). The Bird In Hand Inn has been serving customers real ales for over 235 years and the first pint was drank 5 years before the Iron bridge was completed.
We are situated in the historical village of Ironbridge, central to all the museums and Blists Hill Victorian Town. The Inn is set in its own grounds, in a prominent position with spectacular views of the River Severn and the Ironbridge gorge, giving customers a superb location for their visits to all the museums in the area. Step back in time and walk on the first Iron Bridge to be built in the world that spans the River Severn, the longest river in Great Britain.
Many of the local guest houses in Ironbridge recommend us to their guests as we have built up an excellent reputation for local dining over the past 30 years. We also have a 5 star dining rating and a 5 star hygiene rating. We have an excellent menu with a choice of: 15 starters; 38 main courses from steaks, lamb, pork, gammon, chicken, mix grill, home-made steak in ale, chicken curry and many other spicy dishes; 5 fish dishes; a full vegetarian menu; Sunday roast; and finally step back in time for our Spotted dick, treacle and Jam sponges.
All our en suite bedrooms have been refurbished in the past year and have views of the River Severn.
