The Black Bear

We are a dog friendly pub located in a small market town of Whitchurch in the heart of North Shropshire situated between Chester and Shrewsbury. Dating back to 1662 we have preserved the heritage of the building by keeping much of the original design. We offer our customers a private car park, wheelchair access and meeting rooms.

Here at the black bear we have tried to create a menu that accommodates everyone’s taste and requirements. With our menu changing daily, we hope there is a little something for everyone.

Our small kitchen team work hard to create great dishes from fresh ingredients.

We love to give our customers a wide range of drink as well as food. That’s why we have six guest real ales, 3 craft ales on draught and real cider. We also offer a wide range of soft drinks, bottled beer and cider.

Finally we can’t forget about the wine, all of our wine is from a local supplier everything from a bold red to a fizzy champagne.
