The Hopton Crown

At the bottom of Hopton Bank, as the road heads from the medieval village of Cleobury Mortimer towards the summit of Clee Hill and on to Ludlow, the Hopton Crown has offered food, drink and shelter to weary travellers for many centuries. In 2019 it was extensively refurbished.

Our dining room is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner 7 days a week and we serve a short but classic menu which reflects the abundant supply of quality ingredients from our local suppliers. Our kitchen team creates every dish fresh using whatever is in season. There’s a particular focus on local game during the season, and we always have vegetarian and vegan options available.

We recognise that some of our diners want classic dishes, well-executed but familiar, while others want to explore new flavours. We aim to keep everyone happy!

Our wine list reflects our approach to enjoying good food and good wine. We’ve made the list just that little bit adventurous, while still offering the classic choices. We offer a wide selection of delicious wines by the glass, and also have a “private reserve” of great quality wines for that special occasion.

We have twelve bedrooms here at the Hopton Crown for guests to stay and all our rooms have been recently refurbished to a very high standard. The rooms vary from luxury king rooms and a deluxe suite in the main inn building, oozing with character and with wooden beams, to smaller modern double bedrooms in the more recent part of the building. We also offer two family rooms, each with a king and a single bed to accommodate up to three guests.

Furthermore, we have two self catering cottages in the grounds available to hire which each sleep 5 and Clee Hill Cottage has a private Jacuzzi hot tub in the garden.

We’re proud to accept well behaved dogs in our rooms and in the public areas of the Hopton Crown (except the main restaurant area).
