The Raven

Welcome to The Raven, a former 17th century coaching inn where we delight in offering our guests a friendly service, truly tasty food, fine wine and individually styled, comfortable accommodation.

Incorporating the town’s original Victorian forge, 15th century alms-houses, medieval barns and 17th century coaching inn, no two Raven rooms are the same. All featuring a flat screen tv, free Wi-Fi, en-suite bathrooms with complementary Gilchrist and Soames toiletries.

Shropshire provides an abundant larder for head chef Jani and his team to create stunning innovative, modern, British cuisine. Fabulous dining endorsed by our 2 AA Rosette Awards. The lounge menu offers dishes featuring many well loved classics all created using the freshest ingredients with a modern twist. Perfect for any occasion with a relaxed atmosphere.

Our rooms reflect the diverse character of our buildings. Some light and airy set within the original 17th-century coaching inn, these are the rooms in our main building. Our converted medieval hall being cosy and intimate reflecting history these are our courtyard rooms. Our beautiful converted Coach House is the best room in the house with it double heighten ceiling, maisonette bed with log burning stove with its beautiful wooden beams.

From a house party to a wedding party, reunions, christenings and gatherings, at The Raven, we are often delighted to be selected as a venue to host such special occasions or breaks. Due to our smaller size, all events are bespoke for each party, whether a dinner party for 12 or a buffet for up to a hundred guests, we pride ourselves on providing a personal service.
