Spring Bulb Festival

We are in the process of planting over a million bulbs for our upcoming annual Spring Bulb Festival. This endeavour aims to provide visitors with a captivating, immersive, and vibrant experience as they stroll through the gardens.

The dedicated Trentham gardening team has curated a contemporary blend of bulbs and displays. As the months unfold, Trentham Gardens will transform with varying colours and fragrances as different bulbs come into bloom. In January, the gardens were full with snowdrops, while glimpses of Crocuses and Cyclamens emerged in February. March promises impressive displays of large daffodils. The bees will love pot displays featuring irises and narcissus.

April will showcase the main bulb displays, particularly in the Italian Gardens, which will burst to life with tulips exuding fragrance and attracting bees seeking an early spring nectar source. The woodland meadows will be adorned with white wood anemones. Moving into May, late flowering tulips and bluebells will carpet Trentham’s historic woodland, creating a mesmerising blue haze amid the trees.

Along the banks of the Italian gardens, the Casa de Versailles planters will be a prominent feature. This scented display, now hosting 6,000 bulbs, will offer a sensory experience characterised by velvety opulence.
