Brutal actions have brutal consequences. The political and natural world is broken and the Macbeths seize this opportunity to rise through the ranks and control their destiny. But their ambitions unravel into a living nightmare in a world where boundaries are paper thin – between the natural and supernatural, love and hate, joy and despair.
Award-winning director Wils Wilson (Associate Director at the Lyceum Theatre, Edinburgh) directs Reuben Joseph, straight from London’s West End as the title role of the multi award-winning musical Hamilton, and Valene Kane (The Fall) as Macbeth and Lady Macbeth in this gripping, terrifying tale of our times.
Shakespeare’s enduringly popular play will get a contemporary comedy makeover by comedian and screenwriter Stewart Lee, with a new rewritten scene for the Porter to reflect the darkly comic and satirical nature of the scene for today’s audience.
Performances may contain strong language.
