Introduction To Trail Running
Are you interested in learning how to trail run, looking to transition from road running to trail running or maybe you’ve been out on the trails before and are looking for a bit of extra knowledge? Join the session to learn how to make your trail running safer and more enjoyable. Our introduction to trail running workshop with expert coach Andy Pye is perfect for beginners and will give you all the tools you need to get started.
Trail running has seen a big upsurge in participation in recent years as many runners try and escape the hum of towns and cities, however taking your running off road can bring many new situations, steeper hills to go down (and up), more remote locations and definitely bigger rewards. Our expert coach from Trail Run West Midlands will guide you through taking your running off road safely so you can maximise the benefits.
What will be covered in the session?
- Clothing and equipment
- Safety
- Warming up for the trails
- Uphill and downhill running and hiking technique
- Q&A – your chance to get the answers to your training questions
At the end we will have tea/coffee and cake at the café, this is included in the price.
This is a practical session where you will be under the instruction and expert coaching of Andy Pye of Trail Run West Midlands a UKAthletics qualified Fell CiRF and UESCA Ultra coach, L4 S&C coach, and UKAthletics run leader. It will consist of practice and running with coaching from Andy.
