Pittville Pump Room presents the comedy club.

Our monthly stand-up comedy club continues to delight audiences in the auspicious Pittville Pump Rooms.

Remember, remember it’s the 15th of November (doesn’t quite have the same impact of the 5th but you get what we’re trying to do here).

The only thing blowing up around here is more fantastic stand-up at our regular stand-up comedy club!

November fun-fire-crackers are Steve Day, Jules O’Brian, David Arnold and compered by the fantastic Suzy Bennett!

Steve Day
Steve Day describes himself as Britain’s only deaf comedian, if there are any others he hasn’t heard. Actually there are a couple of others who have started since he wrote that joke, but it’s only a joke after all.

For the past eleven years Steve has been performing to huge laughter around the country and abroad, well they tell him the laughter was huge to humour him, he doesn’t know either way.

Steve Day is a truly unique comedian – warm, witty and engaging whilst dealing with the dilemmas of being a deaf man in a hearing world. Steve went on his first national tour back in 2006, and has since been performing across the world to critical acclaim.

Suzy Bennett
Former Butlins Redcoat and proud Devonian Suzy Bennett ‘accidentally’ won the prestigious Funny Women Award on her 6th gig and has kept the laughs, and her Janner accent, going strong ever since, performing around the UK as well as overseas hosting large events as well as tour support for big name acts

In 2021 Suzy and fellow Plymouth Comedians launched ‘Plymouth Comedy Tours’ which has been selling out and receiving rave reviews on Trip Advisor which inspired them to create Christmas Special comedy tours which sold out like hot pasties!

David Arnold
David Arnold has been a firm favourite of audience goers in the Westcountry and beyond, with a smiley, excitable delivery style that has everyone in stitches. In his ten years on the circuit he has shared the stage with some of the biggest names, performed at world-renowned festivals and even starred in a summer season in Torquay! 2020 was a breakout year – he appeared in a Channel 5 documentary, reached the final of the prestigious Beat the Frog in Manchester, performed at the London Palladium and was crowned winner of the British Comedian of the Year for the South West Region.

Jules O’Brian
Brummie-based Jules performs around the country, telling anyone who will listen about ageing disgracefully, body hang–ups, parenting, and dating. This former teacher’s relaxed, chatty style, crowd interaction and warmth, all served with a sardonic wit, make her a natural crowd-pleaser.
