Croft Cottage
Croft Cottage
Croft Cottage is a comfortable and informal bed and breakfast, a home away from home you could say. We are located right in the heart of the Wye Valley countryside in the hamlet of Hom Green, just 2 miles south of Ross-on-Wye.
Croft Cottage is said to be the former tenant’s cider drinking house of the historic 2000 acre Hill Court Estate, which was built from 1698 onwards. The Hill Court estate was initiated by Richard Clarke, the son of a country gentleman, whose family made their fortune importing clover seed to England in the seventeenth century.
Croft Cottage continues to be a great base to explore the scenic Wye Valley, Forest of Dean, Malvern Hills and of course the beautiful 3 counties of Herefordshire, Worcestershire and Gloucestershire.
You can enjoy walking, canoeing, bird-watching, stargazing, fishing and as well as visiting well  known attractions such as Symonds Yat, Hereford Cathedral, Monmouth, Gloucester Cathedral, Goodrich Castle and Tintern Abbey.
After a hard day exploring why not have a gentle stroll to the award winning Mill Race Pub in Walford which is just 2 miles away along the country lane.
The home cooked breakfast uses locally produced sausages, dry cured bacon and black pudding. Home grown seasonal fruits such as plums, rhubarb, strawberries, apples, pears, quinces, damsons and blackberries are used to make jams and seasonal fruit compotes.
We also make all of our own bread, yoghurts and granola in the cottage kitchen and don’t forget all of our eggs come from the ‘girls’ which free roam around the cottage garden.
